I have intentionally not posted a blog in weeks.  I am not ready to share.

Just know that I will post a new blog....eventually.  For now, I will occasionally share pictures on social media.

Birkenstock Blogging Before, During, and After the Pandemic

Before the pandemic, life was rolling along smoothly and I was having so much fun blogging. In 2019, I shared playful posts like Halloween 2019, where I turned Birks into part of my costume tradition, Shearling Lined Birkenstocks: Part 2, where I admitted my love for cozy shearling-lined Arizonas and Bostons, and Top 10 Tips for New Birkenstock Wearers, a guide packed with practical advice for first-time fans.

Then the shutdown hit, and like so many working moms I was thrown into remote work, remote school, and trying to be chief cook and bottle washer all at once. Blogging slowed down, but I did manage to publish a few heartfelt posts in 2020. Intentionally Blank explained my choice to pause, while Guest Blog by Sandy, The Birkenstock Lady showcased her colorful Mayari customizations made during shelter-in-place. Later that year I shared Gina Mama’s Custom Made Birkenstocks, telling the story of my first pair of truly custom footbeds crafted by Michelangelo, and Support Small Business, where I highlighted the importance of supporting artisans and independent shops through tough times.


I promised I’d return to the blog scene—and I came back better than ever. After the quiet of 2020, I dove back in with bold takes like Do Better Birkenstock: #dobetterbirkenstock, calling out the brand’s slipping quality control, and Taupe Suede Bostons: Most Boring Birks Ever, where I pushed back against overhyped TikTok trends. I didn’t stop there—* Don’t Chance the Last Chance* warned fans about risky final sale policies, while When Magic Happens celebrated Birkenstock’s return to quality and proper widths.


Of course, my shoe love story has grown too—* I Love Hoka* explains how Hokas became my go-to for heel pain and travel, while 10 Birkenstock Myths That Influencers Keep Getting Wrong breaks down the misinformation that floods social media. And for a milestone worth celebrating, 100 Reasons Why I Love Birkenstocks is my ultimate love letter to the sandals that started it all.  Bears, Birks, & BFFs shares the story of my milestone birthday in Tahoe—complete with lifelong friends, laughter, axe throwing, and an unforgettable bear encounter.
